Little e's Kindergarten

Our experienced and creative team at Little e’s Kindergarten is passionate about building the foundations for learning. We dedicate ourselves to understanding children and their learning in a rich environment where children are viewed as God’s creation.

The Little e’s Kindergarten program, which is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, is offered to children the year prior to commencing Prep.  It has the endorsement of the Queensland Government and is approved for Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate.

With two well-appointed classrooms and an inviting outdoor space, our open program supports the holistic development of each child, with a particular focus on the social and emotional domains.

Our doors are open from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday for 50 weeks of the year.  The service closes for all public holidays and over the period between Christmas and New Year.  The licensed capacity at Little e’s is 44 children per day and we have a permanent, caring team of 9 educators who guide and support each child’s daily experiences and participation.

Quick facts:

  • 2 classrooms with 22 children each per day
  • Full-time early childhood teacher based in each classroom
  • Music Program – 4 days per week
  • Sports Program – 4 days per week
  • Monthly incursions included

Little e's is included in the Emmanuel College Open Day each year which provides a great opportunity to see the facilities and meet our teaching staff.

The Little e’s Centre sits within a leafy, shaded corner of the Emmanuel College campus. With ample space for exploring the gardens, a digging patch and a large sandpit. There is also a long covered verandah area with tables for our intentionally planned experiences. Combined with interesting fixed playground structures, the outdoor environment is inviting, peaceful and naturally beautiful.

The large, well-resourced classrooms allow for a variety of indoor experiences to take place without crowding. Regular incursions and music lessons are hosted indoors with plenty of space for interactive participation, in air-conditioned comfort during those warmer months of the year. Each child is allocated a home room where they develop a strong sense of belonging through the thoughtfully planned program. Children are also able to explore the other classroom and outdoor area to pursue their individual interests.

Access is convenient with level entry from the adjacent car park. As part of the weekly program Little e’s Kindergarten also utilises facilities on the College campus; in particular the library, various sporting facilities and the Chapel.
